Chris studied Graphic Design at Portsmouth and Plymouth College of Art and Typography at The London College of Printing. During the 1970s he worked as publicity Designer for Heals and Harrods. After working for a design company in Sevenoaks producing a variety of graphic design he moved back to London and became freelance, specialising in book design and illustration for major publishers.

Chris studied life drawing and landscape painting, selling work through galleries and living in Mexico for a year; he then attended Morley College to study printmaking, specialising in etching and lived in Frankfurt before setting up a workshop in West Sussex. He has had solo exhibitions and sold prints at art fairs and galleries and his work has been seen in The Mall Gallery London, The Biscuit Factory Gallery Newcastle, and Bankside Gallery.
