Statement / Description / Article:

This series of Giclée prints reflects Andrew’s interest and involvement, over recent years, in the local music scene.

His work in the 1980’s was derived from hand-made photo-montages that were worked up into paintings. Since then the possibilities of digital art have massively increased. These new compositions are a combination of montages that have been added to and altered digitally, many featuring local musicians.

The word Giclée ("g-clay"), is derived from the French verb gicler meaning "to squirt or spray", Giclée, is used to describe a fine art digital printing process combining pigment based inks with high quality archival quality paper to achieve superior archival quality, light fastness and stability.

Andrew has exhibited with the New English Art Club, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Institute of Oil Painters (winner of the 2002 Windsor and Newton Award), The Royal West of England Academy. His paintings have recently featured in Guildford Arts Exhibition at the Yvonne Arnaud’s Mill Studios in July 2017.

He has contributed to the Artist Magazine and been featured on the BBC 2 Culture Show.
