Art & Craft show supporting Pancreatic Cancer UK
More than twenty amateur and professional artists from Hampshire, Surrey, Sussex and beyond are coming together, to raise vital funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK by holding an art and craft show. The exhibition will offer an opportunity to purchase original art, glass, crafts and quilted products – at prices to suit all pockets. As well as wine, and other refreshments there will be a raffle and a silent auction.
The free entry show takes place on the evening of Friday 20 October and all day Saturday 21 October in Headley Church Centre GU35 8PP – There is lots of parking at the Centre opposite All Saints church!
Freda Line, a resident of Headley near Grayshott, has put together the show in memory of her late husband Tim. Freda said: “My darling husband died a couple of years ago. He had recently retired and after diagnosis only survived five months. I wanted to put on the show because Tim always encouraged my art work. Local art colleagues have really helped me get through the last couple of difficult years. In addition, I’ve been surprised at just how many people I’ve met who have been affected by this disease and I’m really touched by my friends’ generosity in donating such beautiful pieces.
Pancreatic cancer is the fifth most common cause of cancer death in the UK and is predicted to become the fourth largest cancer killer, overtaking breast cancer, by 2030. Pancreatic Cancer UK is the only national charity fighting the disease on all fronts, by offering support and information, campaigning on behalf of patients and families, and funding crucial research into the disease.
